Grampa came down for the weekend, and the boys caught him watching the football game during lunch! Below Spencer is teaching Aunt Julie a few tricks on the scooter! Happy 36th Shawn!

Helene came up today to help celebrate Shawn's birthday! In middle picture Shawn looks very 'surprised' because at the start of dinner Bryce said he couldn't wait to eat the cake, and then started bawling because he forgot he wanted the cake to be a surprise! Then of course Spencer was in tears too because Daddy wasn't supposed to know about it!

Here's Abigail in a 'newborn' sized dress that goes below her feet ... she's growing well, but still has a way to go!

"Marc the Monarch"

Spencer's class is studying Monarch Butterflies in school this month, so his friend Gavin had brought Spencer a Monarch Catepillar a few weeks ago. We watched him chow through leaves for a few days, then make his chrysalis. He was in there for a few weeks, and then emerged today as a butterfly. It was really fascinating, even for an adult! We let him go today so he can fly to Florida or Mexico, and then he'll come back to this same area in the spring! Very cool. And yes, he is a male, as you can tell from the 2 dots on his lower wings in the picture below. The only hard part was that Spencer got very emotional when the butterfly was leaving! That's when he named him "Marc the Monarch"!

Visitors!

The Glancy's came up for the day earlier this week ... it's amazing how much the boys have grown! From L to R : Ian, Spencer, Abigail, Bryce & Bart. Also Susan, Ian & Abigail. Susan, are you sure you don't want a little girl?! Below is a visit with Irene and Maurice, Abigail's great grandparents. Aunt Barbara (Shawn's) also got to stop by for a visit, but unfortunately we were so busy visiting that we forgot to take pictures!

Hooray ~ We can all go someplace together now!! This is our new (used) Toyota Sienna! More pictures later after we finish playing with it and going for extra test rides!

Back to School

Spencer started 1st grade today, and Bryce started preschool! Spencer had his backpack on and ready to go about an hour and a half before the bus came, while Bryce was more interested in riding around on his scooter up until the last second! Abigail clearly didn't want her big brothers to leave!

Mimi has turned Bryce into a spider lover! He is now the best spider catcher you've ever seen! It's particularly funny watching him trying to catch ants! Spencer is mommy's boy and just walks away!
