Letter Boxing with Grammy

Here's a few shots that Grammy took when they were out hiking last week. Grammy has gotten Spencer into letter boxing ... there are boxes everywhere (in the world) with stamps in them ... you stamp the book you find on the trail with your own stamp, then use the trail's stamp to mark your own book. I'm not sure who's enjoying it more ... Grammy or Spencer!  

Triplets

No, they're not ours! Friends that Shawn sings with at church came over with their newborn triplets. Bryce really wasn't quite sure of all the crying (think it invaded his world!), while Spencer loved them. Can you imagine the lifestyle change? Their oldest, Lily 3 1/2, is on the right.

Summer Firsts

Doesn't take long to mow the lawn now! Pool's open! This pool that Cousin Liz got Spencer for his 1st birthday is still a huge hit!  

Special for Mimi ...

We tried, Mimi ... as soon as the spider started coming down next to Spencer he was out of there! (for everyone else ... when Mimi was here, she killed a spider that Bryce found crawling on the wall; then when she showed them the dead spider in the tissue it started crawling up toward them. Spencer screamed (he's in the midst of a bug phobia), which of course made Bryce scream, and Mimi was crying because she was laughing hysterically. Then Shawn comes out of the other room yelling at me, "What the hell did you do?")

Story Land

We made a spur of the moment decision to head to Story Land yesterday (decision made at 6:30am!), and ended up having a really fun day! Here's a few shots ... Daddy even used the camera! Choo choo! Bryce's favorite! Bryce laughed hysterically on this turtle ride ... daddy came off sweating and nauseous!

dinning room updated ... again

While I had a few other female opinions here today I hung up this curtain ... we (females) think it really ties the dinning area together, so I think it gets to stay. Shawn still doesn't want any window treatments downstairs, but I think he lost this debate! 

Chairs!

We finally have dinning room chairs to sit at! Also check out the new buffet additions in the back ~ we're so excited that we won't have to break out the folding chairs anymore when we have visitors! 

What color is your driveway?

Within a few hours of the rain stopping, our driveway was covered with pollen. This picture doesn't do it justice; Spencer said it looked like a "mat of green salt". 

Paintings for the bathroom

Spencer and Bryce helped paint some new artwork for the upstairs bathroom ... with a little help from mom! We just finally peeled all the old wallpaper off the walls and painted it a light yellow color. The flower was made with the boys handprints, and the "storm cloud beach" scene was completely Spencer's idea, I was just his painting assistant. The neatest part of the beach scene (for Spencer) was that I had to go out in the pouring rain to get real sand from the sandbox! We did the painting on curtain lining material, so it looks like real wroks of art!

Beautiful Maine!

Grammy & Grampa had the boys for the weekend (so mom could paint); we met up on Sunday afternoon at Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth, ME. What a beautiful spot, and a beautiful day!  

Great Nana & Great Gramps visit NH

Great Nana found Bryce a new scooter at a yard sale ... he loves it! Nana is a little worried that he's just going to go flying down the walkway and driveway ... no doubt he will try it when he gets a little older! Great Gramps jamming away with Spencer! 

Bees!

This picture was taken thru the window ... not a bad shot for an amateur! We've never seen a bumble bee with this orange stripe ... anyone have any interesting info for us? Spencer & Bryce watching the bees from the living room window ... what a great way for Spencer to watch the bees without having his flying bug phobia interfere!

Bryce enjoying a chocolate egg! Great-Gramps' old popcorn popper makes a GREAT banjo! I've been corrected 2x now ... it's a bed warmer, not a popcorn popper! Fill it up with coals, then put it in your sheets. I think I need one of those! Bryce catches on quick ... loving the easter egg hunt in Great-Gramps' barn! There were enough eggs in there for at least 20 kids! We've decided Great Gramps hides sooo many so there'll be left-overs for him to sneak throughout the year!
