Cape Finale

This is the last photo I took at the Cape ... the boys and their cousin Sophia (Shawn's sister Meredith and her boyfriend Matt's little girl). Then I stood up and felt my water breaking ... the rest is history! Then Barbara panicked and wanted me to take an ambulance to the hospital (since the three men of the family were at the bar waiting for the take-out food to be ready ... all 3 without their cell phones!). So I finally agreed to let Barb drive me, but then in her panic she backed into a tree and the bike rack on the back of her car went through the back windshield!

Cape Vacation

Here's a few shots from our vacation on the Cape with Shawn's dad's family. In the bottom photo is Peg (Barb's sister), Barb, boys, Kathy, Shawn, Jana & John. It was a great week, including beach time, mini golf, baseball in the backyard, and of course good company!

Transformation!

Before & After! Helene gave me this old mirror that she didn't want anymore, and I made it into a new one to fit the baby's room! I made a cardboard frame and covered it with squares of fabric, then added the dragonfly wallies (precut wallpaper cutouts) around the border and one on the mirror. You might be able to see some swirls, those I did by adding a thick coat of Mod Podge (glue) and used the end of a paint brush to "draw" the swirls in. I'm pretty excited about how it came out! I know, great "Make It, Bake It" idea!

Getting There ...

Here are a few pictures of how the baby's room is shaping up ... the boys pretending to take all the credit for the hard work that Grammy did painting (and yes, Shawn, who finished the second coat in the closet!), Bryce being silly (Spencer took this picture!), a view of the room with the entry door on the left (picture was taken from the closet), and the dragonfly theme that I have started. The frame above the boys is a needlework that my great Auntie Hazel had done with hummingbirds, which fits in this room very nicely. We took the door off the closet (behind Bryce being cute), and we will be putting the changing table in there. Thank you to Maurice who fixed a light fixture in the clost/changing area for us!

Grammy & Grampa's Visit

Grammy got the baby's room painted for us! The walls are "kittery point green", and the ceiling a very light blue. The second picture here is "in progress" ... I'll add more photos when I get the room put back together! Thanks Grammy!

I'm not sure who had more fun with Grampa's 4 wheeler! Thanks for all the wood, Grampa!

Wow ~ 6 Years!

The Gang @ Spencer's 6th Bday Party!

Spencer, Gavin & Declan with siblings Bryce, Carter, and Dacey (We missed you Ian & Bart!) ~ having a blast! Several concerts, shooting starts trying to land on planets (Shawn's magnetic dart board turned into a solar system), snacks, and Spencer read "There's No Place Like Space" (Cat & The Hat book) to his audience! A great party all around!

The Rocket & The Moon!

Here's the rocket prep, and final product, complete with a computer panel and controls on the inside! The cake was a moon with Necco waffers for the craters, surrounded by stars in the galaxy!

Birthday Party Prep!

Gavin, Carter & Kerri joined us to make star cookies to go with the moon cake for Spencer's birthday party ... what a blast they had! They even got to drive their matchbox cars in the snow storm ... who knew left over flour could be such fun! And Gavin can even keep up with Spencer's loud and crazy singing, if not even give him a little competition!

A visit to Mimi's

A few cute photos from Mimi's ... Grier's ready to let Spencer mow the whole lawn now ... and yes, Bryce would love to hang off the side for the whole time! A turkey family has been visiting Mimi's patio, right along with the chicken's. The turkey's chicks where hidding in Mimi's herb garden.
