Timber ... maybe

"Well, isn't that cute" ... I think he said something like that when dad got his chainsaw stuck in the tree! Dad and Shawn attaching it to the truck to try and pull it down after the 1st cut... After a good 1/2 hour, at least 3 cuts off the main trunk, and a few tows from the truck, it was a less then dramatic "timber"! Cool dude working hard!

October Dinner

Mimi made an early Halloween dinner for the boys tonight ... ghost shepard's pie! Very creative! Spencer thought it was quite funny when he ate the peas and then said his ghost was blind!

My Helpers!

We had a load of soil delivered today (to plant some grass where Shawn cut down several trees) ... the boys had a blast in this pile! They played in the dirt for a good 3 or 4 hours straight! Bryce had the most fun rolling down the side of the pile! Bath time was at 4pm today, definitely before dinner!  

Happy First Day of Fall!

Spencer rode his new bike for the first time today!

He started before I even realized he had his bike out, and then he was going super fast with sooo much courage! 

1st day of Kindergarten!

All dressed up and ready to go! (He really wanted to wear a tie, but we veto'd that today) waiting .... Bryce insisted on us taking a picture of him too ... Spencer & Mommy boarding the bus together. But Spencer is quite proud that he rode home by himself, and that he will ride to school by himself from now on. He seemed to have a good day, but was definitely on overload by this afternoon! He is excited about going back tomorrow!

Beach fun!

Ian & Spencer ... akaThe Beach Boys, or so they think! They entertained us with concerts on the beach all day long! Bart enjoying his comfy chair! Bryce hard at work! 

Hot Water!

We have hot water again! Yeah!!! And the boys tub, which was taking 25 minutes to fill a few inches, was ready to go in about 2 minutes tonight! The dishwasher is even running! The boys and I made this fire truck/bus/music van out of the hot water tank box as we spent the day in the basement watching the workers. My day was made when one worker, who also has a 2 and 5 year old at home, said to Spencer, "I can't believe you have such a cool mom to sit there and make that with you!" Horray for summer vacation!! 

Basement Fun!

We're having a new hot water tank installed later this week, which means we need to make room for it! So we got a lot of work done down in the basement today ... several more boxes finally unpacked and lots of reorganization. Spencer had this elaborate drum stage set up: 3 overturned containers, toy box cover, and step stool were all different kinds of drums, plus the top of stepstool was the symbol, paintsticks for drumsticks ... Bryce, on the other hand, just kicked back and relaxed ...  

Music Boy

Spencer created this himself ... he took his microphone out of the stand and made it into a harmonica stand so he could play both instruments together!
